I was a bit skeptical about an aluminum frame being comfortable, but the way it flexes with movement is surprisingly good for long hikes. It fit perfectly into my old pack and feels just as sturdy as the original, maybe even lighter.

Swapped out the bent frame on my patrol pack and it fits like it was made for it, because it basically was. The aluminium feels properly rigid yet light, and you can tell it’s built to take a beating after all these decades.

Finally got the new frame for my old pack and the aluminium tubing is just as sturdy as the original from the 80s. Fits perfectly into the designated slots and feels super durable for heavy loads.
